Freeform Crochet Workshop

This is an image of the crochet pieces the class @ JLP Oxford Street produced on the free form crochet workshop a few months ago. They were encouraged to crochet without the use of a pattern in order to produce a crochet patchwork. I think this is technically known as 'Scumbling' or maybe 'Scrumbling'. If you look on any US crochet site you will see lots of scary examples, but it can look really good, espescially in Rowan's lovely yarn range!
I am tutoring a free form crochet weekend workshop at the Mill in September where I hope partcipants will be a little more adventurous and come up with much larger free form motifs that they can use for the basis of their own throw or crochet hanging.
